Experience the drama of cowboy country. Trace the historic trails of outlaws and Mounted Police over windswept badlands, sweeping grain fields, breathtaking river valleys and pine-covered highlands.
Wildlife is a focus of the Grasslands, while old west history is alive in every Corner of Saskatchewan.  Wild Rose Elk Ranch is located in West Central Saskatchewan...  the very Heart of a Nation where you can go back in time to the place of ancient tipi rings and medicine wheels, major fur trade routes and the signing of Indian treaties. Discover the heart of a rich heritage, from Mιtis culture and the first capital of the Northwest Territories, to the clash of forces in the North West Resistance.

All though the neighboring Mecca of Kindersley may be considered small by some standards with a population of 4,000+ it is home to the Famous Annual Goose Festival in September. Other area events occur on a season and regular basis.  We have included for your convenience some of the local sites and places you will want to visit while you are out at the ranch.

Kindersley Regional Park

Local History
The Kindersley Regional Park was established in 1968 encompassing the campsite, an existing 9 hole golf course, a gun range, a water reservoir and lots of play area. Located within the town limits of Kindersley the park is easily accessible on paved roads 1 mile south of highway #7 on Ditson Drive.

Campsites

The camp ground offers 48 paved or graveled sites with 30 amp service, water hook-ups and picnic tables. In the evening gather around the fire pit to keep warm and swap fishing tales of the fish you just caught in our reservoir or replay that challenging fifth hole and how you almost got that birdie. In the morning shower in fully modern washroom facilities kept spotless by our diligent and courteous staff. We also have a large camp kitchen with four picnic tables and a wood burning stove where you can host any gathering large or small, and we will even provide the wood.

Golfing

The Park boasts of a challenging nine hole golf course where even the most experienced golfer will be impressed. Reconfigured in 1992 this challenging par 36, 3127 yard grass green course has water coming into play on 7 holes. Each hole is capped off with excellent grass greens that challenge any putter from the novice to the professional. Need to work on your game? Go to our driving range and work out the wrinkles. If you forgot that important golf item don't worry, our pro shop offers a line of products from clothing, club rentals, cart rentals and all the basics. After the game enjoy our fully licensed restaurant that offers everything from breakfast to light or hardy satisfying meals. Our friendly and capable staff will make you feel right at home.

Ball Diamonds

Right next to the camp kitchen you will find two well kept ball diamonds where you can host your own tournaments. These diamonds are home to a very active slow pitch league that are always making improvements to the fields.

Play Area

In 2001 a play area was added. Swings, a slide, a glider and a sand box are part of the entertainment area where the knee high to a grass hopper set can play while the adult set enjoy the peace and quiet.

Hiking Trails

Take in a wilderness hike on our 4.2 km of hiking trail. In the summer of 2003, 1 km of trail was paved so you can roller blade or push the baby stroller by our scenic reservoir. Perhaps you will spot a deer or other wildlife that live in the trees of this area. By June 2004 we will have completed another kilometer of pavement.
